Renting the Center
The Michigan Friends Center is nestled into the 92 wooded and lakefront acres of Friends Lake Cooperative Community and is open for day use by FLCC members and their guests. Contact us to ask about the membership program which allows groups and organizations to use the facility.
The Center is an ideal change-of-pace setting for:
- Conferences
- Workshops
- Day retreats
- Training seminars
- Educational programs
- Special events
- Connecting to nature
The Center is available by reservation year-round and is efficiently designed to accommodate a variety of group activities.
In order to keep our center financially viable, we ask that guests who want to use the center pay a reasonable fee for their use of the facilities or to make other arrangements to help us keep our Center clean and in good repair.
Features
- Large Meeting Room (33’ x 27’), with large windows overlooking the forest and a cathedral ceiling, accommodates up to 60 people seated at round tables or 100 people in theatre-style seating.
- South Wing meeting rooms for small groups (10-15 people). The space can be divided into two private 11’x15’ rooms or used as one space.
- A kitchen with a large commercial range.
- Barrier-free access.
- Use of Friends Lake Community nature trails, picnic areas, and lake.
- Michigan Friends Center is an alcohol-free & smoke-free facility.
- Camping is available nearby on the property by arrangement with Friends Lake Community.

The Chelsea Chamber of Commerce can suggest local caterers for on-site catering or take-out meals.
Also, most Ann Arbor caterers will deliver to Chelsea.
